There’s no easy way to grow your following, you have to put the work in.
When Medium makes changes its writers react. It’s understandable. While for some this is a hobby, for others partner program earnings are a useful side hustle and for others still a full time career. We’re all bound to have thoughts when Medium makes changes to how we earn (and how much we earn).
The problem is most reactions come after the announcements but before anything has actually taken place. Some writers hate the changes. Some like them. But the truth is people are reacting instinctively — no one really knows what the impact will be until at least a few months from when the changes kick in.
But there is at least one change coming down the line that will have a clear impact in the short tem — Medium’s limiting of the partner program to writers with at least 100 followers.
